What is the Evatel Service?
Evatel is a virtual assistant for mobile business people. It turns your phone into a portable office with a personal assistant. It answers people who call you and forwards them to you everywhere you go. It also gives you interactive voice access to your e-mails, appointments and contacts by phone.
Evatel comes as a suite of mobility and business productivity services closely working together:
- Speech Calendar to access your calendar to review appointments and schedule meetings by phone
- Speech Contacts to call or send voice e-mails to your contacts and colleagues using speech commands from any phone
- Speech Email to listen to your e-mails by phone and use speech commands to delete, archive or forward them to contacts
- Smart Number a single number with follow-me features to let people reach you everywhere you go
- Smart Fax a fax to e-mail service that can be combined with Smart Number
What Can the Virtual Assistant Do For Me?
Evatel acts on two fronts:
One: Answer people who call you
It answers people who call you and routes their calls to you based on your preferences. It uses advanced call filtering and call routing rules to save you time while making you easily reachable for important calls. It checks your status (busy or available), your phone (at the office, at home or on the road) and the type of caller before deciding how to handle each one of your calls. It can give you the option to take or reject calls, and once you take a call, it gives the option to conference in other people.
Two: Execute your commands when you call (Act as your Personal Assistant)
It greets you when you call and executes your commands such as checking your calendar, reading your messages, scheduling appointments, calling or sending messages to your contacts, telling you who called you and giving you the option to call people back or dial telephone numbers.
Concepts and Conventions
Inbox versus Voice Mail
Your Inbox used to be the place where you get your e-mails, while your voicemail is where you get your voice messages. Once you use Evatel, you will have all your voice messages, e-mails and faxes stored in one location accessible from anywhere: Your Inbox.
Users versus Contacts
Users are people who have an account with Evatel and were given a User ID and PIN.
Users are also referred to as Subscribers or simply Users. If you are using Evatel as a corporate solution within your organization, users would be your colleagues who have an account.
Contacts are people in your contacts folder on your Web Portal or your mail server. They are not usually Evatel users. Contacts are stored in the form of address book cards (Outlook Contacts, vCards or Evatel Contacts).
