Call Forwarding

What is Call Forwarding?

Your virtual assistant helps you stay in touch with your clients, colleagues and friends without wasting your time on unsolicited calls. It filters your calls and forwards only important ones to you where and when you want to be reached. You have one number and one mailbox for all your incoming voice and fax communications.

How Call Forwarding Works?

You can control the way your calls get forwarded to you from the Web or by phone.

The following affects your call forwarding:
  1. Your status:Available, In Meeting, Out-of-Office or Unavailable
  2. Who is callingto determine if the call is important or not (Call Filtering)
  3. Date and time of call to determine how to route the call based on your call forwarding settings

If the assistant cannot reach you on the phone numbers specified in your active call forwarding schedule, it will offer the caller the option to leave you a voice mail. Once recorded, the voice message is sent to you by e-mail as a "voice e-mail" with a text transcription if the option is enabled.

My Call Forwarding Status

Your call forwarding status is used by your assistant to know if you are available to take calls or not  and based on your call filtering preferences, decide whether a caller gets transferred to you or to your voice mail when you are in-meeting, out-of-office or unavailable.

Go to Call Forwarding Statusfor more details.

My Call Filtering Settings

Call screening and call filtering are among the features that help you better manage incoming calls to take only important ones.

Go to Call Filtering and Call Screening Preferencesfor more details.

My Weekly Call Forwarding

You can define a weekly call forwarding schedule to specify where you want your calls forwarded during working hours, after hours and during week-ends.

Go to How Do I Configure Call Forwarding Schedulesfor more details.

My Special Events Call Forwarding

Special Events happen at specific dates during the year. Use the Special Events schedule to set your call forwarding when you are traveling or on vacation.

New Message Notifications

Your can have your assistant notify you when you receive new voice messages or faxes in your mailbox by sending you text messages (SMS) on your mobile phone and/or setting the Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) on your IP Phone where you want to be notified. The SMS address is the one you specified in the Phonespage.

Go to Setting your Notification Preferencesfor more details. Note: The SMS and/or MWI notification feature may not be offered by your local Service Provider.
