New Message Alerts

You can set your virtual assistant to notify you each time you receive a new voice message or fax. Notifications can be made as an SMS message on your mobile phone or as a Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) on your Main SIP telephone device.

Use this section to set your new mail notifications and reminder calls.

Setting Your New Message Notifications

Open the "Message alerts" page under Settings to set your virtual assistant to notify you when you receive new voice messages or faxes as follows:

Select the radio button "Notify me..."  then select the desired notification options:

  • Message Waiting Indicator (MWI): specify the Main SIP Phone where you want the Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) notification
  • Short Text Message (SMS): specify the SMS address of the mobile phone where you want to be notified

Click the "Don't Notify Me" radio button if you do not want to be notified.

Important Note:  the SMS and/or MWI notification features may not be offered by your Service Provider.
 

Types of Notifications

Your virtual assistant can notify you either via SMS (Text Message) or MWI (Message Waiting Indicator). You may select one or both notification methods.
  • MWI Notifications
    Your assistant notifies you by setting the MWI on the Main SIP phone defined in Phones. Consult your telephone device manual or contact your telephone service provider to see if your Main SIP phone supports the MWI feature.
     
  • SMS Notifications
    Your assistant notifies you by sending you an text message on the SMS address of the selected mobile phone defined in Phones. Contact your mobile service provider to see if you have the SMS feature.
