Setting Your Status and Call Forwarding by Phone

Set your status and call forwarding to tell your virtual assistant how to route your incoming calls. In addition, you can also set your Call Filtering Preferences to instruct your virtual assistant on whether a caller gets transferred to you or to your voice mail when you are in a meeting, out-of-office or unavailable.

Setting Your Status and Call Forwarding by Phone

The status and call forwarding commands are available at the main menu level to enable you to easily manage the following actions while on the road:
  • Setting your Status by Phone: Set your phone status to In-Meeting, Out-Of-Office, Unavailable, or Available. Based on your Call Filtering preferences, your virtual assistant will check the identity of callers before deciding whether to take a voice message or offer to transfer them to you if their call is urgent. Only your known callers get the option to get transferred to you while in meeting, out-of-office or unavailable.
  • Setting your Call Forwarding by Phone: You can have all your calls forwarded to a specific number or go back to your automatic call forwarding using your predefined schedules.

Set your Status by Phone

You can set your phone status to "available", "in-meeting", "out-of-the office" or "unavailable" to let your assistant know how to manage your incoming calls:
  • "available": your assistant will forward your calls to you based on your call forwarding schedules
  • "in-meeting", "out-of-the office"or "unavailable": your assistant will take a voice message unless the caller is known and you requested to take urgent calls from known callers. In such cases, your assistant will inform the caller about your status before offering to forward the call to you based on your Call Filtering Preferences.

If you want to set your status to "In Meeting" or "Out-of-Office", you have to specify the date and time range. Here is how you can change your status to one of the 4 possible settings:

To set your status to "available"

You can have Excendia forward your calls to you based on your instructions. You can either have them forwarded to a specific telephone number, to voice mail, or to a sequence of telephone numbers based on your active call-forwarding schedule. Here are the call forwarding commands you can use:
