Company Services

What is a service?

A Service is a speech application that runs on the Evatel Server. Services can be pre-configured mobility services or custom IVR applications written in the VoiceXML scripting language. Each Service has a unique URL but may also have one or many telephone numbers for phone access. A phone number can a DID, a virtual PBX extension, a SIP address or simply a menu option of an auto-attendant service (Virtual Receptionist). The URL specifies where Evatel can find the start page of the speech service when it needs to launch it. The common Services handled by Evatel are:

  • Evatel services such as Virtual Assistant, Speech Contacts, Smart Number, Smart Fax and Notifier;
  • Virtual Receptionist services for company accounts;
  • Third-party speech applications developed in VoiceXML;

The Services page enables you to view your services and perform the following operations:

  • Activate and deactivate services;
  • Assign DIDs to services;
  • Assign virtual extensions to services;

As a company administrator, you cannot add or remove services. Only the system administrator (Your service provider) can add, remove and deploy services.
